Leadership Team

Combining industry knowledge with a broad range of experience, the Certus, a SysGroup Company leadership team has a vast knowledge of the technology market.

We know experience counts and this is something that differentiates us. The Certus leadership team are responsible for the day to day running and management of the business and are focused on their individual areas of expertise.




Paul established Certus in 2000 and has led the business through various change initiatives. In 2011 Paul established the Certus Data Centre, which has been instrumental to the business growth objectives and enabled Certus to enhance the portfolio of services available for their customers. Paul’s previous experience includes senior positions at Sega, JPM International and Dairy Crest Dairies.



Chief Operating Officer – LLB Hons, ACA

Ex Ernst & Young & BBC, Nigel has held senior positions prior to establishing FD Systems. In 2012 Nigel sold FD Systems and joined Certus as Chief Operating Officer. Nigel’s focus within Certus is the growth of the Certus data centre.



Chief Marketing Officer – DipM, MCIM, CIM, MA

Caroline has worked for a number of IT companies in a marketing capacity. In 2012, she joined Certus as Marketing Manager and progressed to Chief Marketing Officer the following year.  Caroline has successfully built a strong Marketing and Customer Care team and also manages our engagement with our vendors.



Sales Director

Stuart joined Certus in 2016 and is responsible for the day to day management and motivation of the Sales and Account Management teams. He has extensive experience in new business development and prior to joining Certus he worked for our key partner Dell-EMC for over 5 years.

Stuart has successfully built a strong Sales team and consistently delivered ‘his number’. Stuart has helped to further cement our relationship with the Dell EMC partner network and aided in positioning Certus as a ‘go to’ partner of choice for the Account Executive team.



Chief Technical Officer

John joined Certus in June 2010 as a Second Line Support Engineer and quickly progressed through the ranks.

John has been instrumental in the management and design of large projects for the likes of Careworks and GoCompare, amongst many others. In addition to John’s technical knowledge, he is also responsible for the design and installation of all Certus Datacentre services. On a day to day basis, John oversees the management of the Certus Service Desk, Proactive Services and Projects Department.



Head of Enterprise Solutions – MSc, MCSE, CCNA, VCP

Having spent 11 years in the Royal Navy as an Aircraft Engineer, Russell has now been working in IT for nearly 20 years. Prior to moving to South Wales in 2010, he has fulfilled numerous engineering, consultant and managerial roles for both private and public sector organisations, before joining Certus in 2015. His current role primarily sees him providing enterprise infrastructure design and solution advice to customers.



Chief Finance Officer

Rhys started his career as an External Auditor with Grant Thornton where he gained chartership. He quickly progressed to an In-Charge Auditor and worked on a variety of audits for public and private sector clients.

Rhys held senior positions at the BBC and CGI, prior to joining Certus in 2016.
